About Our Riding Lessons

Riding Lessons at MDA are a fun, engaging way to learn about dressage at any level, from the bare basics through high level competition. Lessons are upbeat, interactive and open format; students are encouraged to ask questions and take an active role in their training. At MDA, we believe that horsemanship is built from the ground up. Our students catch, groom, tack up and tack down their lesson horses. Lessons are personalized to the rider's ability level and may include lunge work, arena work, cavaletti work, and practicing formal dressage tests. Lessons focus on clarifying communication between horse and rider and on strengthening the team bond; every lesson ends on a positive note.

Students have the opportunity to earn Academy dressage lessons by attending Academy Horsin' Around classes and by volunteering their time at MDA events. For more information about earning free lessons through Academy participation, please see our "About Us" page.
